Clyde
Katahdin Sheep
Currently the youngest sheep in our flock, Clyde was born March 23, 2022, on a sheep farm in Virginia. He and Bonnie were both rejected by their mothers. This required the two lambs to be bottle fed, which calls for a lot of extra work from a farmer. A nice lady agreed to keep them alive until someone would rescue the babies. NarroWay heard about them and was quick to step in.
Clyde and Bonnie came to their NarroWay home on April 30, 2022. At barely one month old, they were bottle fed 5 times a day until they were gradually weaned.
Clyde’s coat is almost solid white, but he has patches of brown on his face. So, he is easily distinguished from others.
Clyde shares a stall with Bonnie and the two are most often seen with each other in the field. They have a fickle friendship with the goats, especially Pepe and Blanche. They all squabble among themselves unless another member of the herd gets involved. Then they band together.
Clyde and Bonnie are terribly co-dependent on one another. They can never be separated on stage so their handlers must remember not to walk in different directions. Bonnie is more gentle than Clyde and though they aren’t large animals, they can pull a strong teenager across the stage like a kite if they think food is waiting.
Clyde is outgoing and friendly. He is always ready to make new friends. He is inquisitive with people and likes to check out anything new around him.
Clyde is a Katahdin sheep. Katahdin sheep are a type of hair sheep domestic to the United States. These sheep shed their coats and never have to be sheared.
Clyde is in all the biblical shows at NarroWay. He and the entire flock help create authentic biblical scenes on stage and are featured in “Jesus, the Teacher” and “The Real Christmas Story.”
