How Your Sponsorship Affects Cleopatra

  • Food
    Cleopatra is given a small portion of grain and lots of hay every day. In addition to the hay she shares with her buddies, Cleopatra also gets other hay varieties to supplement his specific vitamin needs.
  • Bedding
    Cleopatra's stall is padded with stall mats and filled with a thin layer of fine shavings for easy clean up.
  • Minerals and Salt
    All our 4-legged stars have loose salt available. But Cleopatra needs certain minerals others in the herd do not need. So, her food is topped with a mineral supplement to make sure she gets selenium, calcium and other necessary minerals.
  • Probiotics
    Twice each day Cleopatra gets a probiotic specifically engineered for camels to insure her unique digestive system functions as it should.
  • Parasite Control
    Internal parasites are the #1 killer of camels. We make sure that Cleopatra is regularly tested and receives any treatment she needs to control whip worms and other threats.
  • Fly Control
    Flies are more than a nuisance. They can pose serious health risks. In addition to our aggressive cleaning practices, we treat the entire animal housing area and pasture with fly predators. We use fly sprays on individual animals as needed. Cleopatra also has her own set of fly boots to keep flies from biting her legs.
  • Veterinarian Care
    Cleopatra loves her vet! She receives regular care with an annual exam and stays up-to-date on shots. Of course, she also gets emergency care when needed.
  • Costumes & Props
    Every star needs props, and Cleopatra is no exception! On stage she wears gorgeous blankets with all kinds of accessories. She also wears a spider - a leather apparatus custom made for camels - where various items can be attached for hauling. As she continues to grow, we will continue to up-fit her costumes and props.
  • Treats
    What's life without a treat every now and then? Carrots and apples make Cleopatra smile!
