How Your Sponsorship Affects Pattycakes
Food
Pattycakes is given a very small portion of grain mixed with a small portion of vitamin supplement every day.
Hay
Pattycakes shares Bermuda hay with all her buddies.
Bedding
Pattycakes' stall is padded with stall mats and filled with a layer of shavings for easy clean up.
Farrier Care
All our equines are seen by a farrier every 6-8 weeks to ensure proper hoof care.
Salt
All our 4-legged stars have loose salt available.
Parasite Control
Pattycakes is dewormed on a rotational schedule every 2-3 months.
Fly Control
Flies are more than a nuisance. They can pose serious health risks. In addition to our aggressive cleaning practices, we treat the entire animal housing area and pasture with fly predators. We have traps and other deterrrents across the property and use fly sprays on individual animals as needed. Pattycakes also has her own set of fly boots to keep flies from biting her legs.
Veterinarian Care
Pattycakes receives regular care with an annual exam and stays up-to-date on shots. Of course, she also gets emergency care when needed.
Epsom Salts
We also keep Epsom Salts on hand, especially for Pattycakes. Patty is more prone to abscesses than her buddies, so we make sure we are prepared to care for her at all times.
Costumes & Props
Every star needs props, and Pattycakes is no exception! On stage she wears beautiful blankets and saddlebags and sometimes even sports a beaded necklace.
Treats
What's life without a treat every now and then? Carrots, apples and carefully selected horse treats make Pattycakes smile!
