How Your Sponsorship Affects Chester
Food
Chester is given a very small portion of grain mixed with a small portion of vitamin supplement every day.
Hay
Chester shares Bermuda hay with all his buddies.
Bedding
Chester's stall is padded with stall mats and filled with a layer of shavings for easy clean up.
Farrier Care
All our equines are seen by a farrier every 6-8 weeks. Chester takes extra care as his hooves require corrective attention and have from birth.
Salt
All our 4-legged stars have loose salt available.
Parasite Control
Chester is dewormed on a rotational schedule every 2-3 months.
Fly Control
Flies are more than a nuisance. They can pose serious health risks. In addition to our aggressive cleaning practices, we treat the entire animal housing area and pasture with fly predators. We have traps and other deterrrents across the property and use fly sprays on individual animals as needed. Chester also has his own set of fly boots to keep flies from biting his legs.
Veterinarian Care
Chester receives regular care with an annual exam and stays up-to-date on shots. Of course, he also gets emergency care when needed.
Costumes & Props
Every star needs props, and Chester is no exception! Having been on stage from 3 months old, Chester is one of the most versatile animals to costume. He wears holters, chaps, bells, antlers and almost anything you would remotely consider putting on a donkey! Of course, there are the gorgeous blankets, too!
Treats
What's life without a treat every now and then? Carrots, apples and carefully selected horse treats make Chester smile!
